Location

Coral Bay is located 1100 kilometres north of Perth on the Ningaloo Reef. There is sealed road all the way from Perth.

Climate is subtropical and pleasant for most of the year, with February being the hottest month, with temperatures in the high 30’s, July being the coolest with mid 20’s and cooler nights.

The reef which skirts the shore is Australia’s closest fringing reef. Coral Bay beaches provide safe swimming all year round.

Facilities

• There are two small supermarkets that can supply most need, with prices only a little more that Perth standards.
• A Bakery has fresh bread and cakes daily and also caters for the coffee and sandwich trade.
• There is a newsagency for the daily papers, magazines etc and video hire.
• A gift shop has items of clothing, swim wear and gift lines.
• Two dive shops provide tank fills and general fishing gear.
• Emergency medical facilities are at the nurse’s station in the shopping centre.

Eating Out

• The Hotel has a restaurant and also does counter meals.
• There are two other cafe type facilities providing a variety of foods.

Fishing

World class fishing is available on the Ningaloo Reef. Some of the fish that you may catch include Marlin and Sailfish in season. Mackerel, Tuna, Snapper, Red Emperor, Spangled Emperor, Coral Trout, Baldchin Grouper to name just a few.

Please remember though that Coral Bay is subject to the State wide possession limit for the take of fish, please check with Fisheries WA for current bag and size limits for the Ningaloo reef.
